Juicy Jeera Chicken Gravy Recipe

800 gms. Chicken

1 tbsp Cumin seeds, whole

1 tbsp Cumin powder

1 tbsp Coriander powder

2 tbsp olive oil

½ tsp Black Pepper, coarsely ground

Salt to taste

1 cup of water


2 Onions, sliced finely [suggestion: puree and then cook to prepare a gravy sauce; otherwise, breast meat is too dry to chew.]

2 tbsp Coriander leaves, fresh, chopped

1 tsp Green Chillies, chopped


▪ Heat the oil, when hot, add the Cumin seeds, and stir for 1 minute. Then add the Chicken, Cumin powder, Coriander powder, salt, and pepper and mix well.

Add ½ cup of Water, cover, and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, till the Chicken is done.

▪ While the chicken is cooking, lightly sauté Onions in little oil till lightly brown, add the chopped Coriander and green chilies. Mix well and remove from heat.

▪ Keep aside but do not cover. Add the garnish and spoon onto the dish when the chicken is done.

Serve with a hot Chapatti.
