Gur wale chawal | Punjabi Gud Chawal | Jaggery Rice

Jaggery rice


Jaggery 1 cup

Water 1 cup

Ghee 4-5 tablespoons

Coconut dry 1/4 cup

Almonds 1/4 cup sliced

Raisins green 1 -2 tablespoons

Basmati rice 1 cup soaked for 30 minutes

Cloves 1-2

Black cardamom 1

Fennel seeds 1 tsp

One piece of jaggery crumbled

Edible silver leaf 1 for deco

Mske syrup with jaggery .

In ghee or butter fry coconut , almonds and raisins. Soaked rice , cloves and black cardamom , fennel seeds & 2 cups water . Simmer till done to 75 percent . Add gur syrup and let it cook on its own steam . Add some crushed jaggery on top. Let it melt in heat of its own . Garnish with silver leaf . Enjoy
