
Ingredients:
• For Dal:
• 1 cup chana dal
• 1/2 cup black split husked dal
• 1 tsp turmeric
• Salt to taste
• Water
• For Tadka:
• 1/2 cup butter
• 2 red onions, finely chopped
• 2 tsp garlic, minced
• 1 tsp ginger, minced
• 1–2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
• 1 tsp coriander powder
• 1 tsp red chili powder
• 1/2 tsp ground cumin
• Cilantro (fresh coriander) for garnish
Steps:
1. Cook Dal:
• In a pressure cooker, add chana dal, black dal, turmeric, salt, and water.
• Cook until the dals are soft.
2. Prepare Tadka:
• Heat butter in a pan.
• Add onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until golden.
• Stir in coriander powder, red chili powder, and ground cumin. Cook for 1 minute.
3. Combine:
• Pour the tadka over the cooked dal and mix gently.
4. Garnish:
• Top with fresh cilantro.
Serve:
Enjoy hot with chapati or rice!
